It is hereby understood that a claim will only be paid to the main member of the scheme if the main member is the claimant. A payment will only be paid to the nominated beneficiary If the main member is deceased.

All claims will be paid to Rand Financial Services, Rand Financial Services will pay Rand Undertakers cc T/A Rand Funerals first for any service they rendered before paying out the main member or beneficiary.

1. Anyone over the age of 18 years may participate in the membership of Rand Financial Services Pty Ltd, funeral Services done by Rand Funerals Registered as Rand Undertakers cc.

2. 5 Dependents under the age of 21 may participate in the membership.

3. A full birth certificate must be supplied with the application of membership when children

have a different surname than the main member.

4. Members not legally married but living together as a family can still enjoy the family

benefits, provided that all relevant particulars are stated on the application form when

membership commences.

5. All new members are subjected to a waiting period of six months before membership commences.

6. Maximum entry age for a single and family member is 65 years (main member, spouse).

7. Membership for children will continue until the age of 21 years, if children are involved in full time education at a recognized Public Institution their membership will continue until the age of 26 years.

8. Membership will cease if subscription fees are not paid for 2 MONTHS.

9. It is the duty of the policy holder (main member) to make sure that your policy is paid to date.

10. Should a member or dependent die as a result of an accident (unnatural death) a one (1) calendar month waiting period will apply.

11. Membership will cease in respect of a particular member or dependent when the contractor has deleted such a member’s particulars from the schedule.

12. If a member as mentioned in (11) above should re-join the scheme at a later stage the same conditions as for a new membership will apply.

13. Membership is provided on a month-to-month basis. No reserves are accumulated under the membership; therefore, subscription fees are payable lifelong and there are no surrender values when membership ceases.

14. Subscription fees are not guaranteed and can be adjusted.

15. When an existing member changes his/her membership category, he/she will be subjected to the relevant waiting periods before the new membership category can commence.

16. Membership can only commence on the first day of a month.

17. An application for membership, which is received during a month, if approved, will only be accepted from the first day of the new month. Following the receipt of the application and subscription fee, membership will commence after the stipulated waiting period of six months.

18. No benefits are payable in the event of suicide within a 24 months’ period from inception date.

19. Rules are subject to change at any time.

20. Subscription fees are payable monthly in advance on or before the first day of each month.

21. Items 1 to 21 listed under Option 1 of the RAND 3 Membership Package will be provided by Rand Undertakers cc T/A Rand Funerals for services rendered within a 100km radius from our Johannesburg office / Benoni office, for (main member, spouse and children between 14 to 21 Years old).

22. Items 22 to 32 listed under Option 1 of the RAND 3 Membership Package will be provided by Rand Undertakers cc T/A Rand Funerals for services rendered within a 100km radius from our Johannesburg office / Benoni office, for (Stillborn 26 weeks plus to 13 years old).

23. Main member, spouse and children between the age of 14-21 years for RAND Option 1 will receive R2000.00 Money back when Rand Funerals does the funeral of the main member / spouse /children (14-21years).

24. For RAND 3 Option 1 a maximum amount of R2 750.00 will be paid for graves fees or cremation fees for main member, spouse and children between 14 to 21 Years old and R2 000.00 for Stillborn 26 weeks plus to 13 years. (No change)

25. Main member, spouse and children between the age of 14-21 years for Option 2 will receive R16 000.00 for Pay outs when you do not use any services of Rand Funerals Dependents below the age of 14 years for Option 2 will receive a pay-out according to the RAND 3 Pay out table.

26. All claims will be paid to Rand Financial Services, Rand Financial Services will pay Rand Undertakers cc T/A Rand Funerals first for any service they rendered before paying out the beneficiary

27. Only a spouse can be replaced, but relevant waiting periods will apply before the full membership commences.

28. Claim Procedure Natural Death: All the following documents must be completed and

forwarded to one of Rand Funerals offices in the event of a claim: 1. Certified copy of a

death certificate; 2. Certified copy of an I.D. for the deceased, Certified main member I.D.

and Certified Beneficiary I.D.; 3. Certified copy of a burial order; 4. Copy DHA 1663; 5.

Confirmation letter from the funeral parlour that is conducting the service. The claim will

only be processed once all the necessary documentation has been supplied. The claim

will only be finalized within 48 hours (excluding weekends and holidays) after initialization

of processing.

29. Claim Procedure Unnatural Death: All the following documents must be completed and

forwarded to one of Rand Funerals offices in the event of a claim: 1. Certified copy of a

death certificate; 2. Certified copy of an I.D. for the deceased, Certified main member I.D.

and Certified Beneficiary I.D.; 3. Certified copy of a burial order; 4. Copy DHA 1663; 5.

Confirmation letter from the funeral parlour that is conducting the service; 6. Case

Number from the police station that the case was reported to; 7. Police report. The claim

will only be processed once all the necessary documentation has been supplied. The

claim will only be finalized within 48 hours (excluding weekends and holidays) after

initialization of processing.

30. No claim will be honoured if the name and surname and I.D. Number on the application

form does not correspond with the death certificate.

31. Only claims submitted within 3 months of the date of death will be considered for

payment.

32. No claims will be honoured if subscription fees are in arrears or short paid.

33. No claims submitted by fax or email will be excepted.

34. To receive immediate cover when moving from another undertaker or underwriter if your

policy is the equivalent to our RAND 3, you will need to give us official receipts from the

undertaker or underwriter of your current membership, showing that your membership

with them is paid up to date for 7 (seven) months or more and what value you have with

the other undertaker or underwriter.

35. A letter from the other undertaker or underwriter stating that your policy is paid up for 7

(seven) or more months and what kind of value you have will also be accepted.

36. Member to take note that the policy inception date and cover will only become effective

when the 1st payment is received by Rand Financial Services from the debit order

instruction or cash.

37. Once the policy is instated it is the duty of the member to inform timeously the Rand

Financial Services Pty (Ltd) of any change to their cell-phone numbers. This is to make

sure that you receive any important information or updates and that your policy remains

valid. The company will accept no liability if the member does not receive messages as a

result of any changes in their cell-phone numbers and not informing the Rand Financial

Services Pty (Ltd) of these changes as these messages go out regularly to all members to

inform them of changes in policy structure, non-payment, increases, lapses, etc.

38. All dependents’ documents must be submitted upon opening a new policy

39. No additions or amendments are allowed after signature, except for spousal status changes and biological newborn babies for main member.

38. It is my desire, as client, to be a member of a collective group known as the Rand Financial Services (Pty) Ltd. I do hereby mandate Rand Financial Services (Pty) Ltd to act on my behalf as set out hereunder:

• Rand Financial Services (Pty) Ltd is hereby appointed to act as my sole agent in

respect of appointing a policy underwriter in respect of my funeral policy.

• Rand Financial Services (Pty) Ltd is specifically mandated to manage my funeral policy

in conjunction with all their members held as a group through the underwriter of their choice.

• Rand Financial Services (Pty) Ltd is hereby authorised to move my funeral policy to the policy underwriter which they deem fit and proper when it is in the best interest of the group

• Rand Financial Services (Pty) Ltd is hereby authorised to negotiate a funeral package with the proceeds of the policy on my behalf at the Funeral Services Provider of their choice.

• It is hereby confirmed that I approached Rand Financial Services (Pty) Ltd directly and out of my own free will and therefore I acknowledge that I am the member of Rand Financial Services (Pty) Ltd and not the exclusive policy member of the policy underwriter which they elect on my behalf.
